J.K. Rowling is a very well known author, best know for "Harry Potter". "Harry Potter" is one of the most popular young adult, and children's book of all time. Rowling has made millions upon millions of dollars from her books, which were then turned to movies. Obviously, J.K. Rowling is a woman who has seen a lot of success in her day, but that didn't come without failure.
Rowling had always loved to write, but her parents weren't supportive of her decision to make writing her career path. They thought it was just a mere hobby, and it would never amount to anything more, let alone be able to pay for a living. But after the death of her mother, she was thrown into a pit of grief. She moved to try to get away from her sadness, this is where she met her husband. However the marriage ended quickly. She describes that she saw herself as a failure. She was divorced, jobless, and a single mother living off welfare. She was as poor as she could get without being homeless.

On day while sitting on a train, ideas for her book "Harry Potter" Started coming to her. She began writing her ideas down in a cafe, and the story of Harry Potter came to be. As she began sending drafts of her book to publishers, it seemed like she was getting continuous amounts of rejection letters. She began thinking her story didn't have as much potential as she had originally thought. She figured she had failed, yet again. But then, to her surprise, a publisher accepted her book, and it was published. The book went crazy, people were loving it. And the family of fans only grew bigger as the rest of the books in the series came out. Even through all the books success, she was still faced with hardships. Parents wanted her books banned from schools, people were accusing her of stealing the idea of Harry Potter. She was able to push through these struggles, and gave Warner Brothers movie rights. The reaction to the movies was immense, the income was millions of dollars. The story of J.K. Rowling is a perfect example of persevering through failure, because she saw herself as a failure, and because she persevered, she is now one of the most wealthy women in America.
